The Sumekko Dress is a collaborative pattern inspired by fadanista.com that we wanted to share with everyone. This is a clever maxi singlet dress that only has a centre back seam. It can be shaped at the waist with optional waist darts.
The Sumekko Dress is a PDF pattern is designed to be hacked and personalised, and has different length suggestions for a singlet or knee length version. It is suitable for knits with a minimum of 20%stretch.
Instructions contain a link to an instructional video showing to contruct the dress.
Sizes 8 - 16
The element that makes the pattern unique is also its limitation: it has no side seams, which means the whole pattern must fit onto the width of the fabric. Larger sizes would need wider fabric, and that is not easily available at this stage.
Downloads include: PDF A4/US Letter home print, A0 Shop Copy and Instructions. The A4/US letter pattern can be printed with layers, so you only need to print your individual size,or you may wish to print multiple layers if you need to grade between sizes. There is also a handy envelope design to assist storage and reference.
